Hostel The Golden Stork is the perfect place to spend the night in The Hague, but we have a lot more to offer than just a good nights sleep. Read more about our café and bar which uses locally roasted beans, our fine selection of beers, delicious breakfast and innovative interior.
You’ll arrive straight into the reception and common space of The Golden Stork from Bierkade, which means you’ll be overlooking one of the prettiest canals in The Hague. There are plenty of wall sockets to connect your devices to, there is a lounge area to relax in and tables to eat at.
The bar itself also has a story to tell. The wood used to be part of the floor somewhere at the back of the building. It took a lot of effort to pull the beams out, but the wood was of such good quality that we decided to recycle it and make a bar out of it. The result is a unique and characteristic piece.
Well begun is half done. Thanks to Vlinder, a local bakery, we’re able to serve our guests a luxury breakfast buffet every morning. For €4,50 you can choose from a variety of fresh biological breads and typical Dutch spreads. We offer eggs, cereals and yoghurt and, of course, a nice cup of coffee. In other words, we’ll make sure that you’ll be ready for a long day of discovering The Hague.
We are collaborating with Roast Factory, a local company that combines high quality coffee with sustainable entrepreneurship.
Not really into coffee? We also have a variety of sodas and fresh teas. We serve our beverages, hot or cold, with gorgeous cakes and cookies from our local bakery.
Together with Van Alsem, the best wholesaler in the region, we have created a quality beer menu, with a selection of special beers. Among them are local brands such as Kompaan and Eiber. Always in stock too are Heineken, La Chouffe, Duvel and Corona. We stock several seasonal beers from Dutch and European breweries. Whether you’re looking for something special or just something fresh and cold, we’ve got it covered!
From early morning to late at night, the bar/reception is staffed. This means that there is always someone around to help you get around the hostel or the city.
